We are looking for a qualified solicitor 0-3 years qualified, with good experience in non-contentious company and commercial law for the owner-managed business.

In our website, the “About Us” section cover the firm's main areas of Business Law.

The majority of the work is divided as follows:

Business Transfers
Share Sales and Purchases, Asset Sales and Purchases

Company Law
Shareholders Agreements, Duties of Directors, special share rights

Commercial Property
Freehold and Leasehold transfers

Commercial Contracts
Commercial agency and distribution agreements, legal issues about website trading, terms and conditions of trading, research and development contracts, banking and venture capital agreements and associated banking security documents.

We do some commercial litigation for established clients but not a great volume.

 

Requirements
It is not required that the successful candidate is highly skilled and highly experienced in all these areas of law. Support will be given to enhance legal and professional skills.

The major portion of work is in Business Transfers, Commercial Property and Commercial Contracts. It would be preferred that the successful candidate had some solid experience in these fields.

Two particular qualities are sought:

  1. Ability to create a tailor made document where there is no ready made precedent, and thinking “out of the box”.
  2. Ability to negotiate business contracts and commercial solutions with the other side, in a practical and commercial way, without losing sight of the legalities.

We do not cover residential conveyancing unless as a special favour for eg. a major client's Managing Director. We do not cover at all any financial services (unless purely ancillary to mergers and acquisitions) or divorce & family, or crime.

Temple & Co's purpose is to provide clear, positive, commercial, high quality and constructive legal advice to businesses at a competitive cost, which is responsive to the clients' needs and fulfils their objectives.

There is frequently a high adrenalin factor in these matters, which can involve tense negotiations, complicated issues of law and critical time scales in fast-changing circumstances. Clients must have ready access to creative and practical legal advice in a commercial context.
